Makes sense even if the quoted comment from the manual remains slightly incorrect.
Well, your quote on meter styles has a similar contents to the one for .inc files:
The loaded file is treated as if the contents were included in the actual skin .ini file.
yet it's a somewhat similar behavior to meter styles, if you take the meter as being "the last" or "below" compared to the meter style:
If there are different values given for the same key, the last value is taken. Unlike new sections, options on pre-existing sections are added in their original order, so the calling section may overwrite values from the included file if they are placed below the @include statement.
so basically, if we were to compare the two scenarios, it's like not having a key / option in the .ini that was previously also defined in the .inc, thus the .inc value will remain the only available / used one. Although there's no exact equivalent of !SetOption "" in an .ini other than the !Refresh dependent !WriteKeyValue, I guess the idea is easier to deduce in that case since, after all, the .inc and .ini are different files in the first place. The principle, however, is remarkably similar to the one we're talking about here, in general terms. Might help in better grasping how both work, and why they do it that way.
